Gordon-Smith
Read about our visit to Gordon Smith in Higham Ferrers here
An icon of the Punk era and a mainstay of British guitar making, Gordon Smith guitars were the brainchild of Manchester guitar makers John Smith and Gordon Whittam and for over 30 years were built down the road from Forsyths in Partington. In 2015 John announced his intention to hang up his tools and head for sunnier climates, and the company was aquired by Auden Guitars. John spent his final year with the company sharing secrets and transitioning the build process and a new chapter has now begun with the instruments built in Northhampton.
Forsyths were long standing customers of John's and have seen a few hundred Gordon Smiths pass through our hands over the many years we have stocked them, so we have been keeping a close eye on the change over and are delighted to report that the first guitars coming out of the new workshop are absolutely fantastic, capturing the spirit and identity of the originals and mantaining a very high level of build quality.
We try to always have examples of the popular models of Gordon Smith in stock and ready to buy, but if you are thinking of ordering a slightly more unusual Gordon Smith please do not hesitate to drop us a line - there's nothing we like more than getting stuck into a custom build project!
